“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on the most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ…” ~ Jude 20-21

Life can get complicated very quickly whether we’re at home, work or hanging out with friends and neighbors. The world will always be around us – and we cannot escape it, however we can influence it by the choices we make. Someone once said to me that you cannot change the world, but we can change the world of one person.

There is so much that can bring us down spiritually in the world and if we’re not careful we can easily get sucked into its desires. This is why it’s so important for us to be built up in our faith and in prayer. If we learn to keep ourselves in the Love of God it will be harder for us to stumble – for it is God who ultimately able to keep us from stumbling.

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” ~ Col. 2:6-7

Because of the faith that we have professed in Jesus Christ, we can be thankful that when we do stumble, He’ll be there to pick us up. However, if we establish ourselves in the faith –  we will be able to keep our minds and hearts clean – and thus it will be hard for us to be sucked into the ideologies of the world.

The world will always be there, but the question I ask is, are we able to withstand giving into temptation? There’s nothing wrong with temptation – it is not sin, what is sin is giving into it and allowing ourselves to stumble in it. This is why if we rely on God and the faith we have in Him, He’ll keep us from stumbling.

How do we keep from stumbling? It’s simple: SPEND TIME WITH GOD in prayer, supplication and meditation on His Word – if we do this we will end up  building up our spiritual man and have the strength to not fall into temptation. When the world see’s we’re not falling into temptation and not giving in the pressure we can ultimately change someone’s life because they will see that we stand for what we believe in.

Blessings in Christ,
