Isaiah 6:1-7

In the last weeks blog I wrote about the importance of boldly coming before the throne room of God. “God does not descend to meet with us – it is us who ascends to meet with God!” There is something special about coming before the throne of God. It is a place where His presence resides and we have the ability to tap into it with our praise. Yet there will always be something that will keep us from experiencing the very presence of God and that is our own twisted ideas and sin – INIQUITY!

Iniquity literally means a twisted idea. Because of our human nature it is easy to slip back into sin. Yet the thing we need to begin to realize is that we have power over sin in our lives, because of the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. Our sin man / flesh man was killed at the cross when we accepted Jesus Christ – in light of this when sin begins to raise his ugly head we have the power to remind him that he’s dead and has no authority in our lives.

Isaiah, when he saw the Lord lifted up and the angels praising Him, he quickly realized that he had no right to be there because of his sinful nature. God saw that Isaiah had a pure heart and was devoted to Him, that one of the Angels reminded Isaiah that his sin and iniquity was cleansed by the burning fire of God. Yet we cannot fully enter into His presence if there is sin in our hearts and on our lips.

The Bible says in 1 John 1:9; “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Remember when we come before Him with thanksgiving and praise to come before him with a contrite heart and one that is pure; for when we do that, we will experience the presence of God in a whole new way. We can accept His forgiveness as long as we confess before Him. We do not deserve to be before God’s throne room – but because of Christ and the price He paid we now can come before Him boldly.

Blessings in Christ,
