083: Is Your Website Guest Friendly?

Where do I go from here?

Having a website is a wonderful thing, but the problem a lot of first-time guests have, they don’t enjoy the experience. In today’s episode, I tackle this idea that guests come first and that we should be giving them a quality user experience.

When we take the time to care how a guest feels on our website, we’ll make fast friends and they’ll want to come around again and again. I’ve seen so many websites where I simply click away because of a bad about page or lack of a contact page. If we want to take things to the next level, we must put that user experience first.

For some bloggers, it’s difficult to categorize, or even tag. I know this is something that I’ve struggled with over the years. Maybe you’re saying with each post,  I don’t know what tag or category to place this post in.

I know I’ve talked about social media a lot as of late. Don’t worry, I won’t linger much longer on this topic. However, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on Snapchat and why I believe it’s the next Twitter.

For a couple of years my sisters have tried to get me to join Snapchat. “It’s great!” they said, “You can send an image or a short video to somebody for 10 seconds and it doesn’t eat up storage on your phone.” My first thoughts were, “this is really stupid why would anybody want to use this?”

Why social media is the most important tool at your disposal.

Facebook and Twitter are the largest and biggest social media platforms in the world and if you want to be successful in business, just existing on these platforms will only get you so far. We dabble with it. We play in the sandbox and then when we realize we don’t know what we’re doing, we vacate.

There is a war happening between Facebook users. Should one have a Fan page or a Group page for their business? It seems a silly question, however the debate is ever real.

I have been a part of several group pages and have liked even more fan pages. The groups I’m a part of and the connections I’ve made have made the experience of social media all the more fun. But personally I prefer using fan pages for business.
