There comes a time when we feel tired, worn out, weary and bored. These are not bad, in of themselves, but when they become a lifestyle it could be the beginning signs of burnout. Today, we’ll be looking at the 4 signs of burnout and how to fix the downward slope of depression. Disillusionment and lack of motivation keep us from moving forward. We need hope to see the light again.
I am My Beloved’s and my beloved is mine. Christ is not ours because we are not Christ’s. Our whole life is to be about Christ and Him crucified with Him maintaining the first in our life. Because when we are Christ’s, He is ours.
1JN 2:15-16 NKJV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Song of Solomon 6:3 NKJV
I am my beloved’s, And my beloved is mine. He feeds his flock among the lilies.

I came across this video this morning. It lifted my spirit and caused me to praise the Lord. This video shows a room filled with U.S. Marines praising God! It’s powerful, and is a great reminder that we are supposed to be spiritual Marines!

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

I listened to the story of Moses in Exodus 3 this morning on my way into the office. I was captivated by the story. Here are my thoughts and takeaways.
Here was a man, broken, a fugitive and a murderer standing before Almighty God at the burning bush. What’s amazing is how he sounds just like us when God asks something of us. Moses whined and made excuses.
How many times do we make the same in our daily lives? Our boss, parents, spouse ask something of us, and all we do is make excuses why we can’t step it up. What’s our reasoning? Is it because of fear of failure? Is it because of the feeling of inadequacy? What holds us back?

I have it on my Macbook Pro and the Android clone called Day Journal. I recommend Day One, as a daily journaling app — they have it for both iPhone, iPad and any Mac computer. I’ll write about how I journal another time… .but here’s an expert from my journal.
*What did I read/listen to today?*
I read the story in Mark 5:21 where Jairus comes to Jesus to seek healing for his daughter. While on there way a woman secretly touches Jesus’ garment and is healed. Both act out their faith in different ways. One is openly seeking Jesus, and the other is secretly seeking Jesus. As you read the woman who secretly sought Jesus eventually came forward.
Listened to Chuck Swindoll this morning on KTIS AM 900. HIs message was on the Sovereignty of God, and how we take it for granted. In everything that happens in life, whether or not is in God’s will, always works according to His will. And, nothing happens without God fist knowing about it.
He asked a question, “If I preach the gospel to one individual and God has predestined them to get saved, they will–but if I preach the gospel to an individual and they are not predestined to be saved, no matter how much preaching I do, they will never be saved. What’s wrong with this picture?”
Right or Left Brained
I found this on a blog as I was surfing the web and I think you’ll enjoy. Take a look at this picture.
Which way is she spinning? If she’s spinning clockwise you are more right brained.
If she’s spinning counter-clockwise, you are more left brained.
I have found that I only see her moving clockwise and my dad and my wife see her spinning counter-clockwise, but then she changes to clockwise then back again. What do you think that means, and do you have the same perspective?
I found this list on the blog I visited:
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believes that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Where is your faith today? We live in a scary world, a world where people are crying out for safety and salvation. When we take the time to seek the face of the Lord, we are asking Him to move in our lives. When God moves, people see.
Our lives should be living testimonies of what Christ has done. If we want to see the rewards of God in our daily life, we have to seek Him with our whole heart. It takes commitment and time. But, if we stick with it and see it through, we’ll find His blessings ever present in our lives.
David was a man after God’s own heart – should God expect any less from us?
Choose today to be a person who diligently seeks to be more like Christ, each and every day.
In this past year, we’ve seen more Bible based movies than I ever remember. Some have been really good (God’s Not Dead) and others have been a dismal failure (Noah). What is it with Hollywood messing up a story?
Take Noah for instance – we have fallen angels as rock giants helping Noah build the Ark. What about the Biblical narrative? “This is how YOU are to build the ark…” Gen. 6:15 What part of YOU don’t the movie makers understand? And what about Tubal-Cain being in the ark during the flood? What does the Bible say? “And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.” Gen. 7:7. Only 8 people were in the ark. What about Noah trying to kill his grandchild? “The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become…. ‘for I am grieved that I have made them.’ BUT Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord…. Noah was a RIGHTEOUS man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.” Gen. 6:5-9
The movie got nothing right!
Lifetime Movie Network did a mini-series based on the best selling book, The Red Tent. The story focused on Dinah, Jacob’s only daughter. The premise of the series was to tell her story, what happened to her and why do we never really hear of her again in the Bible after Genesis 34.
I have, on my phone, the Bible App
from Lifechurch.tv. It’s the best Bible app available on both iPhone and Android. I set their daily verse widget on my phone. It’s a great source of encouragement for daily life.
Psalm 63:3-4; “Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.”
When we praise God in our daily lives, our spirit man is lifted up and rejoices in the salvation God has given us through Jesus Christ. Set today as the day you choose to rejoice in the Lord. Bless His name with your lips. Don’t do just lip service, let it become a lifestyle.
