Joel [2:21]-32 – Click to Read Passage:

The question we seem to be asking ourselves these days is, ‘what has happened to the America we once knew?’ Our financial system continues to fail. Our job industry is at an all-time low. There is a greater push on the Government to fix our problems. The healthcare system is looking bleak. There is a famine in the land, and everything that gets touched by our own locust’s die and fail. Is the time we, as Americans, are in a judgment from God because of the lack of prayer the church has lifted up to heaven?

We are living in a day and age, where people want all their needs met, both physically and spiritually. At the time that the prophet Joel wrote his book, Israel had the same situation. Their land was riddled by several different species of locust. God’s desire was for Israel to repent and turn back towards Him as their provider, not the kings. He promised that He would restore the land that was destroyed by the locust, that He would become, once again, Israel’s Provider in the midst of turmoil.

Joel; [2:26]-27; “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; Then you shall now that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.”

Because of the situation we, as a nation, are living in we need to pray more than ever before. The Bible says that in the last days the love of many will grow cold. People will become lovers of self, money and sex, haters of God and everything He stands for. We have stated in our historical documents that we are ‘ONE NATION UNDER GOD’ in need of ‘DIVINE PROVIDENCE.’ What happened to that certainty of God being the one in whom we place our trust? We place more trust in the powers that be in our government than we do in God! The founders of our great nation knew we needed God on our side if we are to live successful lives.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness… and for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence…”

The Founders knew that if we placed our trust in God, we would be able to live a harmonious life filled with the happiness He freely gave to us. We have duty; and as we get closer to Thanksgiving Day, keep in mind that as believers in Christ, for God to heal our nation, we need to repent and turn from our ways for Him to heal our land. 2 Chr. [7:14].

Pray for our nation this Holiday season. I believe the Lord is about ready to pour out His
Spirit on all flesh. A revival will break forth, but it has to begin with us as His Church. The healing of our nation begins with our own hearts. Give thanks to the Lord for His mercy endures FOREVER!
